Do you sometimes feel like you don’t really belong in your current community or your workplace?
Maybe you’re someone who keeps moving from place to place, longing for a sense of belonging and really craving to be part of a group or a community that will welcome you but you’ve not quite experienced that yet?
Maybe you don’t quite experience the level of connection and belonging at your workplace, that you so desire?
Do you experience feelings of worry or fear about your safety or security on a subconscious level? A level of restlessness within that you can’t quite explain?..
Chances are, Action Tribe, that your Root Chakra might be a underactive.
On today’s episode of My Seven Chakras, I’m going to provide you 3 effective ways to heal your Root chakra to Feel More Grounded, Secure And Supported!
Now before that, let’s first understand a little about the root chakra and how it influences us..
So firstly, if you’re new to this topic, you can consider the chakras as energetic organs that connect us on an individual level to the universe around us. The chakras govern and regulate the flow of energy and information to and from the environment around us.
The root chakra is located at the bottom of our spine and the area that it governs is the lower hip and the groin area. So imagine a funnel or a vortice of energy with the broader part of the funnel facing outwards.
When everything is functioning fine, you experience a sense of connection and belonging at your home, in your community and even in your workplace. There’s a sense of calm and assurance about everything that you do; A sense of grounding and rootedness, if you will.
But when your root chakra is underactive or blocked, you experience a deep sense of disconnection. This state might make you feel restless and anxious about life in general, and if you don’t do something about it, it might take a toll on your daily energy levels.
You might feel a sense of tiredness, exhaustion, stress or even depression because on the soul level, you really crave to be accepted and loved unconditionally.
You see, your root chakra develops over the 1st 7 years of your life. The emotions, thoughts, feelings or trauma you experience during these formative years, can really impact your root chakra.
For example, as a baby, if you didn’t receive the physical touch and hugs that you deserve, it might affect your root chakra.
If there was domestic violence or verbal abuse in the home where you spent the 1st 7 years of your life, there’s a chance that the development of your root chakra was affected.
If you experienced something that made you feel unloved and uncared for, it might have had an affect on your Root chakra.
Don’t worry though. It’s not too late!
So the questions then becomes, what can we really do about this situation?
What are some steps that we can take today that will help you balance our root chakra and make us feel better?
Step 1) Take a moment to think about your relationship with your Mother…
How is your relationship with her right now?
If she’s not alive, then how was your relationship with her in the last 5-7 years of her life.
Are you not on talking terms?
Are you a bit distant these days?
Did you have a disagreement a few months or years back because of which your relationship is a bit sour now?
Did she hurt you in someway and are you still holding that energetic resentment in your body?
It doesn’t really matter whose right or wrong here.
Your mother gave birth to you, and your relationship with her plays a huge role in the health of your root chakra, which is a symbol of your physical existence on the Earth plane.
So give this some thought…
Even if your relationship with her is not that bad, what I’m about to suggest to you is going to be really useful.
The step I recommend is to heal and mend your relationship with your mother, or at least take the 1st step towards a more nourishing relationship..
I know that this might seem really hard to do and not really comfortable for you, but if you want to balance your root, then you’ll need to go a little past your comfort zone…
You can have a face to face meeting or even give her call..
If you feel a bit uncomfortable having this meeting or if you feel like you’ll not have the right words when you meet here, then you can send her a love letter.
That’s right – a love letter!
The goal of this letter is to send appreciation, love, kindness and forgiveness her way.
You’re free to write as much or little as you want.
It really depends on you..
This is your chance to write your heart out, and if there were instances or moments when your mother hurt you, feel free to write those down as well.
I recommend not printing this out, but writing it out by hand.
That’s going to be much more effective in releasing your root chakra energetic blocks and helping you experience the alignment that you deserve.
So write this letter and send it to you mom or just hand it over to her in person with a nice box of chocolates.
So that was step number 1, which is connect with your mom or even better write her a love letter!
Step 2) Get a root chakra pocket crystal:
Crystals have a very definite molecular structure and because our body is composed of over 60% of water, crystals are able to influence our emotions, our thoughts and our energy.
There are certain crystals that are good for certain chakras, and for the root chakra, I really love the black obsidian and the smoky quartz, although I prefer the latter.
If you’re lucky to live close to a crystal shop, get one form there or just order one on eBay or Etsy, but get yourself a root chakra crystal.
I love the ones that aren’t too small or too large. I love the ones that fit in my pocket – I call them pocket crystals.
Depending on what chakra crystal you choose for yourself – either a black obsidian or a smoky quartz – keep this crystal in your pocket or close to you all throughout the day for at least 3-4 days.
You’ll feel the difference…
You’ll begin to feel more rooted, more grounded, more calm, more assured and much more aligned.
Step 3) Take a barefoot walk in nature!
Yes, you heard that right…
When was the last time you walked barefoot on fresh soil, sand or grass? Didn’t it feel good?
There’s a scientific reason why it’s so relaxing and calming to walk on the Earth barefoot and it has to do with the phenomena called Earthing.
All throughout the day, because of our daily activities and interactions, we develop free radicals in our body. These free radicals are one of the reasons for inflammation and other issues in the body.
The Earth, because of its negative charge, is able to attract these free radicals into its bosom and away from your body.
You’ll notice this shift as soon as you step barefoot on the sand or soil or grass. It’s powerful!
Us humans aren’t really use to wearing sneakers or shoes all day. At a spiritual level, we’re really craving for the frequencies and the energy of the Earth, and going for that 10 minute walk barefoot provides you just that.
This barefoot walk, action tribe, will really help you balance your root chakra, allowing you to feel much more balanced, relaxed and calm.
Chances are that you might have heard this before, but remember, knowing something is very different from doing it yourself and experiencing the difference.
So consider this a lovely reminder from me to you.
So in summary. Here’s are my 3 recommendations for balancing your Root chakra.
- Write your mother a love letter.
- Get a root chakra crystal – Either a black obsidian or a smoky quartz.
- Go on a 10-15 minute barefoot walk on sand, soil or grass.
